In November of 2020, we lost one of our brothers, Thomas "Gene" Young, after an 18-month battle with cancer. Gene was a prominent member of the Cavalier Cookers Team for more than two decades. In fact, the team may have died off long ago if it had not been for Gene. He is the reason we are coming back stronger than ever and making sure that this team does not go away with him.

At Fiesta 2022, we are going to introduce the Gene Young Memorial Scholarship to be given away each year to a member of the Zeta Chi chapter. Any proceeds from the Cavalier Cookers tent will go towards that scholarship.

We are thankful to Gene for all of the time and money be put into Cavalier Cookers over the last 20+ years and we want to make sure that his legacy lives on.
